Paris Blockchain Week and Dubai2049: two weeks of innovation for Colossus and Blockchain Professionals

Paris Blockchain Week solidifies its status as a paramount event in Europe for blockchain professionals and institutions, while the same holds true for Dubai Token2049, despite the challenges posed by adverse weather conditions in the Emirates City.

PARIS BLOCKCHAIN WEEK
This event stands as a pinnacle in the industry, bringing together some of the brightest minds in the industry in one place. This fifth edition took place from April 9 to 11 at the Carrousel du Louvre
This year's edition surpassed previous years by far as over 10,000 people will attend from over 76 countries.
This even counted many important voice of the web3.0 Landscape, The lineup of speakers at Paris Blockchain Week 2024 reads like a who's who of the blockchain industry, featuring prominent figures such as Richard Teng, CEO of Binance crypto exchange; Jeremy Allaire, CEO of Circle, the creator of USDC; and Tim Draper, Founder and Managing Partner of Draper Associates

One of the topics under the spotlight during Paris Blockchain Week,  was the “real world asset tokenization”, marking a pivotal moment for the industry. It was encouraging to witness an increasing number of proof of concepts transitioning to pilot phases and even reaching production stages.

Still the debate between public and private blockchains persists. Major banking institutions have developed robust blockchain solutions on private networks. For instance, HSBC's Orion powers its retail gold token, while JP Morgan's Onyx network facilitates intrabank transactions with JPM Coin. Yet, the true strength of a network lies in its participant base, prompting a push towards cross-chain interoperability protocols and 'co-opetitive' operational models. 

Custodian and their role

Custody was another main topic of discussion since it is a key enabler to the mass adoption of tokenised real world assets, allowing users to securely store, manage and interact with tokens and decentralised applications.

As regulated custodian, Colossus stands at the forefront of the topic and even this year we’ve been present at the event,  with a lot of news.
For this occasion, we are proud to announce the market launch of our innovative Digital Platform called “Staking Hub”, already battle tested on more than 16 chains.
Staking Hub is a unique platform which stands out for the  intrinsic value that it offers, enabling assets under custody to generate yield by staking directly from within custody, Creating a new paradigm for which assets under custody can be utilized as “active” assets alike.
Not only that, Colossus is continuously updating  the platform enabling new chains week by week, and new functions as the market and its needs upgrades too. Staking Hub is built to perfectly integrate within custody platforms like Fireblocks and Ledger, becoming a bridge between the major needs of institutional clients: Custody/Security and control over their assets.

We had the pleasure to meet our partners and our clients at the event and present this new product that will ultimately change the behaviors of institutional clients, who need a secure and regulated solution, all while maintaining the freedom of choice for their valuable assets. 

DUBAI TOKEN 2049
Dubai Token2049 encountered significant disruption when a severe storm struck, reportedly causing flooding not only at the event venue but also across the city. Despite the unexpected emergence of harsh weather conditions and an "emergency" situation resulting in flight cancellations and waterlogged roads, the event managed to draw attendees who braved the challenges to participate. Unfortunately, we missed the opportunity to connect with our partners and clients the way we wanted to, due to insurmountable weather-related obstacles. Our Founder, Lorenzo, found himself navigating between airports, roads, and transportation services, ultimately unable to attend the event as initially intended.
Still, other major events are coming, and we are going to partecipate to them bringing with us a lot of news and updates on our projects!
